MOVIE MURMURINGS
A few items of possible interest concerning the (rapidly) upcoming Transformers movie. First, I’ll be reviewing the movie for Comics International (issue #203, on sale in July sometime). This is, of course, contingent on my actually seeing the movie, but the omens are good for a preview screening sometime this week. The review will go hand in hand with a feature I’ve already written for that selfsame issue of Comics International, concerning the movie itself and the evolution of Transformers in comics form (over the past twenty years or so). I’ll be publishing brief extracts from both review and feature here, in due course. Keep watching. Comics International is available from all good comic stores. Other stuff? Well, I’ve also (above and beyond the new comic stories) contributed some feature material for Titan’s new Transformers comic/magazine (click on the link below for a new promotional advertisement for the title). Issue #1 (on sale July 19th) features a profile on Optimus Prime and a head-to-head (battle profile) between Ratchet and Barricade. Issue #2 (on sale August 16th) features a Megatron profile and a Jazz/Blackout head-to-head. Oh, and if you like these, you should definitely check out the upcoming Transformers: The Movie Guide from Dorling Kindserley (yep, written by me). It features pretty much everything you need to know about the movie characters (robot and human), organizations (Sector 7, etc) and fixtures and fittings (Allspark and so on). It’s out on July 4th.

Ah so you are writing the DK book, cool. I’m sure you’ll get a place at one of the Press Screening this week.
Will you be attending the Second Life Press Conference at all though?

Everyone seems to be converging on Leicester Square this Friday, but it seems all a bit last minute. I’m assured that’s normal, but it certainly leaves me a bit disorientated.
Hopefully the fans from The Moon and those of us attending from other sites, like DonMurphy.net, will see you there.

You, of all ‘TF people’, deserve an official guest invite. Well, at least you’re resourceful by yourself Simon.

Don’t think I’m going to be able to make the Second Life thing, but I will be at Friday’s screening. Full report next week.

Simon, does your comment about the movie mean you are not joining us at Botcon in Providence this year as part of the IDW team?
June 22, 2007 at 6:51 am
Can’t make Botcon, I’m afraid. Just couldn’t make it work, time-wise. However, I will be at this year’s San Diego Comicon (July 27-29). More details on this soon!

Apparently, you can view the Second Life Q&A live today here: http://www.transformers.slcn.tv/

Further to my last comment, the Second Life live Q&A is scheduled to air at around 5PM in the UK (which makes it about noon EST).

Disappointed you won’t be in Providence. Disappointed I won’t be at SDCC - it’s a wee bit farther south from Ontario… But I hope things come around soon with respect to your presence at the movie. Cheers!
