To coincide with the (Australian) release of Madman Entertainment’s Special Edition of Transformers the (animated) Movie and their 17-disc Complete Collection of the entire G1 animated Transformers series (click on the pack image below), a special all-Transformers edition of their podcast, Anime Snacktime, is now available for download. The podcast, in amongst a bunch of other great stuff, features an extended interview with yours truly, in which I discuss, well, just about everything… including my Transformers work past, present and future. There’s also a good bit of exclusive background on the creation of the mini-comic (available only with the Complete Collection) I did recently with artist Nick Roche (see previous blog entry for details and art). So, if you’d like to listen to my dulcet tones, head to Madman’s dedicated Transformers site here or the home of Anime Snacktime here. Any questions raised by (any part of) the interview, feel free to discuss them right here on my blog by clicking on the ‘comment’ option of this item. I’ll do my best to answer as many of them as I can.

you know the one thing that annoys me is we dont have them in ireland ! beast wars was only shown on a little watched station here called TV3 and it skipped straight from the last episode of “the agenda” to beastmachines (which i seem to be in the minority in actually liking because the writing was very good. ok i didnt like the whole organic cybertron thing as i always loved the concept of TFs as silicon based life but taken as what it is its a fun character driven piece.) still it drove me nuts that i didnt see how they got out of G1 prime getting shot in the head πŸ™‚ belive it or not it wasnt till the advent of youtube that i saw it. though i did manage to get a VIDEO (lord now i know im old) of the nemisis two parter. have to admit simon your TV writing is alot like the comic in terms of cliffhangers and multiple plots and i thought it worked very well.

maybe one day we’ll get the full story in boxset form in the future though im starting to think it’ll be the same day as i get “the greatest american hero” as well πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

good interview though. its nice to see the presenters seem to knew their stuff and actually asked intelligent questions. cant wait to hear your review of the movie.!

    Nice little interview Simon πŸ™‚

I’m curious, as I’m sure many people are, what other issues of Spotlight are going to be coming after the Prime one?

I don’t want to steal IDW’s thunder. I’ll leave it to them to announce the post-Prime Spotlights.
