TF-UK A-GO-GO #9

Out today, Feb 28th (in the UK only I’m afraid) ā€” issue #9 of Titan’s blockbusting Transformers comic/magazine! Within, you’ll find myriad delights, not least of which is an all-new, exclusive 10-page comic strip, spinning out from the Transformers live action movie but in a most unexpected way. Forget happy endings, reality has splintered and a whole new world, one ruled by Megatron and the Decepticons, is the result. In Twilight’s Last Gleaming (part 1 of 5) the UK comic takes a bold new direction, forging its own distinct post movie continuity. Things are looking bleak for planet Earth, with just handful of Autobots pitted against Megatron’s massed forces and the planet itself in a state of massive upheaval, being literally transformed by the power of the All Spark. Can the beleaguered resistance kick back? What Machiavellian machinations is Starscream hatching? Why is Mikaela Banes mankind’s last best hope (well, apart from the obvious)? And what is the fearful fate of Optimus Prime? The answers and more can found within! Story is by me, art by Simon Williams. Oh, and there’s more comic strip, stuff to win, FREE Transformers playing cards (how cool is that?) and features galore. Don’t miss it. 1. Picked the comic up this morning on the way back from the hospital, looking good so far from the little Marvel UK nod with the cover art to the UK story. The strip certainly has some of the best UK exclusive artwork I’ve seen in ages, just have to wait a month for hte next part lol

Excellent! Loving this one (and poor Sam!).

Is that Skyblast on the moon there or his repaint Air Raid?

  3. matthewhessey says:

Great issue Simon, managed to pick this one up last week at Forbidden Planet, who seem to have a naughty habit of releasing these a week early, not that I mind!
Anywho, the only thing I was disappointed with was the length, just as the story had been set up, it was done until next month!
I realise this isn’t your fault, but I was wondering if there was any chance of longer UK pieces anytime soon? Perhaps after the Movie Prequel series is finished?

I love the idea of a alternate movie universe story, I can’t wait to see the rest of it. But since the movie stuff can’t keep going on forever. Maybe next year would be a good idea to feature some transformers animated comic’s. Unless you still have good idea’s for the movie universe.

Hey Charles RB, that’s Skyblast on the moon in TLG1.

Matthewhessey, I doubt the newly originated page count per strip will go above 10-pages per issue, certainly for the foreseeable. Sorry.

Sebastian, keep watching for news on the TF Animated front!

I’m hoping the Animated comic (which I’m assuming will be forthcoming) is different to the IDW version. If I understand correctly, it’s essentially screengrabs for panels, with the cartoon’s script as dialogue?

The UK comics have always been better for putting a new spin on the established property, so hope springs eternal. Anyway, I want to submit to it! Hope really does spring eternal!
