I know, I know! Another long absence! But it’s my intent, this week and next, to bring everyone bang up to speed on what’s been going on (a lot!) and what’s therefore coming up (work-wise). Short form list of projects right now include… Starcraft (a new monthly comic from Wildstorm, based on the hit computer game from Blizzard Entertainment, which kicks off in May), an Ironhide/Optimus Prime story in the first (I think) issue of All Hail Megatron: Coda, two (currently) top secret Spotlights (Transformers, naturally) for IDW, a trio of books (Rad Robots for Kyle Cathie, Transformers: The Art of the Movies for Titan and Transformers: The Movie Universe for DK), volume 2 of Titan’s Transformers UK and a movie script, something that’s been kicking around for a while but now has an actual option attached. That last one may well have to remain under wraps for a while yet, but more on that when I can.

Is Rad Robots an original thing or a Transformers book?

  2. Bass X0 says:

Looking forward to seeing CODA. I’ve enjoyed the last few issues of AHM but I’ve got to say you’re still a better juggler of multiple plot-lines than Shane is, Simon. I am confident that CODA will do wonders to filling in the gaps of AHM.

And I am looking forward to all the upcoming Spotlights. Will you ever consider writing Fangry into a storyline, Simon? Even though he had very few appearances in the Marvel comic, the way you wrote Fangry (the angry Decepticon winged wolf Headmaster) made him instantly memorable. Although if I had any say in who should get a Spotlight, I think Bludgeon and Thunderwing are more deserving despite appearing in the IDW continuity already (such Spotlights may have to be set in the past given the two characters current status).

  4. I gotta say. I’m VERY intrigued by this Starcraft comic you’re doing. Quasi-religious all-out-epic warfare space opera is up your alley.

Got a link to any more info on it?

  5. Conor E says:

Clicking my name SHOULD take you to DC’s May solicitation, Starcraft #1 is scheduled for that month.

Great to hear from you Simon, has been too long! Glad that you’re alive and kicking, sounds like work has been huge in the last couple of months!

More Simon Furman Spotlights is awesome, as well as this Coda story!!!

  7. Conor E says:

My attempt to link to the solicitation for Starcraft #1 seems to have been killed by a spam blocker, so I’ll just directly copy the text of it (and I cut the bit about how to get the variant cover):
